Battle at Bedtime!

So we have had this ongoing battle with Rachel concerning sleep! I fear that she is phasing out a nap and I am not okay with that!!! She has always been a great sleeper (both of my kids are, PRAISE THE LORD)!! She has not been sleeping at all at "school" and when she comes home she doesn't want to nap either and usually it is so late that I have to decide whether or not it makes sense because then the result is that she will sleep until 5:30 and then want to stay up late....what to do???

The jury is still out....

start skipping it. Make her rest, but don't require a nap.
"You don't have to go to sleep, but you have to rest." Let her play quietly in her room or something...look at books or something...

I wish I had some earth shaking advice for you! Cilla is only 7 months and is a not-so-good sleeper and it drives me nuts. So, I totally understand where you are coming from. Mommies need their rest, too! I am thinking the make her rest or have down time but not sleep advice is right on!

Hey! I'm sorry I'm just now getting around to this post... I must have missed it :) Anyway, we have been dealing with some of the sleep problems too and I have cut naptime down to an hour max for P. I lay her down around noon and go and wake her up about an hour later. I've found that it helps her go to bed easier at night... although we've pushed her bedtime back a little.

And on the days where she won't fall asleep, I let her lay on the couch with books and watch a movie or something so she does get to rest a little.

It is such an adjustment figuring out new schedules as they grow up, isn't it! :)
