I know, I haven't posted since Tuesday and I am WAY behind on posts from our trip...

Rachel is's been a long couple of days. The tube in her left ear has fallen out and almost immediately (or so it seems), she has another ear infection. This is the first one in nearly 2 years!!! It's so frustrating! Dr. Hull said that we might have to go back and visit the ENT doc again if she keeps having about reinserting the tube.....

I promise I will catch up but I can't promise when. I am working tomorrow, then Truck or Treat at church, then church Sunday then I work!!!! Yes, you read that right...this stay at home mommy is not going to be staying at home for the next couple of weeks! More about that later....OH, and YES, as a matter of fact, it will be Lauren's first time at daycare...and YES, I AM a nervous wreck!!!! Thanks for asking!

Disney, Day 2 - EPCOT

I have a friend who does not like EPCOT! Can you believe that? Actually, I can. Let me just tell you that it isn't necessarily my favorite place to go but it certainly doesn't fall into my category of things I don't like. Parts of it are/can be very educational and some other parts are just fun...again, some parts are boring, but to me, most educational things are boring, so....ANYWAY....I really enjoy the Future World parts better than the World Showcase. So, Monday, we went to EPCOT all day. We stayed until just after dark and didn't see Illuminations (the fireworks show, which I's my favorite show in all the parks) but my kids just weren't lasting that long. I think that Lauren turns into a pumpkin, around, oh....7:30-8:00! We did a lot of Future World the night before, so this day we focused on World Showcase. They have a neat little station in each country called Kidcot. It is a place where kids can go and get stamps from each country, color their project (this time it was a mask), and get a cutout to hang on the mask. Rachel LOVED this until she fell asleep around, I think, Japan. Brice's mom got the stamps from the countries where she was asleep so she didn't miss out on that part. These pictures are from her coloring the mask in Canada and then her showing her mask after she colored it and got her cutout from Canada. We ate a late lunch again, this time in the country of Morocco. Brice and I try to eat at Morocco everytime we go to Disney because it is different and you can't find this type food around here much. (I really think it's because of the belly dancers that Brice likes to go, but anyhow). =) The food, as always, was great! It wasn't crowded and Rachel LOVED, I mean LOVED the belly dancer. I am going to try to upload a video...let's see if it works.

She has decided that Mickey Mouse ears ice cream on a stick is her favorite!!!

Lauren slept really well in her baby carrier...I could only carry her for a little while...Brice did most of that...she is too heavy!

We had a good time! This was a long day. Day 3 was a day of rest so not much to post about tomorrow but we did go to Downtown Disney and took some pictures while we were there.

Disney World Day 1

We arrived in Orlando on Saturday and then just stayed in our condo that night and watched Arkansas almost beat Florida....too bad almost doesn't count in football! But, it was a good game.

Rachel on the airplane....

Sunday morning, we got up early and went to Magic Kingdom for breakfast with the Pooh characters at Crystal Palace. Rachel wasn't too sure about the characters at first but then she warmed up to them. When they first tried to come up to her, she was literally shaking with fear. It was FREEZING outside...okay, not literally but it was very cold...especially for Florida...I had to buy a sweatshirt.

We spent most of that day at Magic Kingdom but ended the day at EPCOT. We had a great day. I could not believe the weather was so nice...after the initial time of being really cold in the morning. We had reservations at Coral Reef restaurant for a LATE lunch (almost dinner time) and Rachel liked eating where she could see the fish swimming around in the aquarium. I think she loved the shark the long as he was far away and behind glass!

Rachel's favorite attraction was...hands down...the carousel!! She refers to it as "the horsies." She also rode Dumbo flying elephants, It's A Small World, Snow White and Peter Pan (although I don't think that was Sunday, I think it was later in the week).

One of the things that was so great about this trip is that really all we paid for was food, souvenirs, and a rental car. We used rapid rewards to get our flights, we stayed in a condo courtesy of Brice's parents' time share, and when we went back in 06, we bought a 10 day park hopper ticket with no expiration date and we had 5 days left! We loved our condo and it was just a great experience!

There are more pictures on the posts coming....

Look for Frequent Posts This Week!

I am going to try and do each day of our Disney trip as a separate post. I was thinking of ways to cut down on the overload of pictures. As my husband would say...I like pictures of my family WAY MORE than others do!! He jokes that sometimes we have to pay people to take pictures of girls because we give them out so frequently!! =)

So, look for posts from each of our days from this past week. There were fun memories that were made. The girls did great!

Hi, Ho, Hi, Ho...

Welp, we have been in Florida for the past week at DISNEY WORLD!!!! We had a blast. We are tired. We are adjusting to the time difference and lack of sleep. We have church in the morning and a full week ahead of us. We (I) have some pretty important, big, decisions to make in the near future.

Stay tuned...all of that, and tons of pictures to come!!!

Serves Three Purposes

I love these DVDs!!! We also have the CDs which are just the music version that NEVER stop playing in the baby's room. A sweet friend, Cynthia, gave me our very first Praise Baby CD when I was in the hospital after having Rachel. Rachel was in the NICU and we had only lived in the city where we are now for less than a year. I was so excited that she came to see us! She was the preschool director at church at the time but I think she would have come anyway! =) It was such a treat.

I would sit in the nursery after Rachel was born and rock her and cry...literally LIKE A BABY!! I mean, I would sob! I had some emotional issues after Rachel was born. She and I were both pretty sick after she was born and I think that didn't help. I cried for about 4 months after she was born. Luckily, that didn't happen the 2nd time around. Anyway, that Praise Baby CD was what I would listen to and just couldn't fathom how much He loved me...enough to give me this precious gift. I couldn't help but weep knowing that she was all HIS but on loan to me! How special I felt! The song that I would cry to everytime it came on was "You Alone." Beautiful song.

When Rachel got to be a little older where she could sit in front of the TV...even in her bouncy seat, we would play the DVDs. They are awesome. They are like a praise and worship version of Baby Einstein. The title of my post....these DVDs serve 3 purposes...
1. Girls get to watch TV
2. I get to do some stuff around the house to awesome music!!!
3. MOST IMPORTANTLY...they get to learn about God!

They are great...we have the entire DVD collection, including the lullaby one. I believe we have all of the CDs as well.

Be blessed!

One In A Million

I love my girls. I know that everyone knows that but will they always know? I sure hope so. I can't believe how big they are...both of them. Rachel is getting incredibly independent and as much as I think this is great, that means that she is growing up and that makes my heart a little bit sad. I know they can't stay little forever and that is bittersweet. I love babies...little itty bitty babies. LOVE THEM! That is my favorite stage. I love newborns. Not necessarily the lack of sleep but some of the most precious times are spent in the middle of the night during those feedings that you are barely awake for. I just love it! That's why I will likely have at least one more baby. I can't get enough of that sweetness!! =)

I heard this song a long time ago and I love it. It is so sweet! I heard it again today and was reminded about how sweet my babies are. The lyrics are just precious. I have it one of the girls' CDs and it plays in their rooms on occasion (we have the CDs on rotation more for Mommy and Daddy's benefit than theirs).

Way up above us
Twinkling bright
There must be a million stars in the sky tonight
Don’t worry
No need to cry
You are the only twinkle that’s in my eye

You’re more than one in a million
No one can take your place
Though I could try, there’s no way that I
Could ever forget your face
You’re more than one in a million
No other ever could do
‘Cause not even one in a million
Could ever compare to you
Could ever come close to you.

Through all the laughter
Through all the tears
Whenever you need me
I will be standing here
Right here

Don’t wonder
Don’t ever fear
Though you may wander
I’ll always be right here
So near

I, Like Most of the Rest of the World....

logo Pictures, Images and Photos

Now that it's cooler, I have drank about a dozen Cinnamon Dolce Lattes from Starbucks!!! My dad introduced them to me and I am in love!!! I have to be careful when I drink them because of nursing Lauren...I don't want her to be up all night long. The hard part is that I usually get them when I am grocery shopping since there is a Starbucks located in our grocery store and I usually do my grocery shopping at night. I only get them if Lauren is already in bed for the night or if I have fed her for the last time!

I am not crazy about coffee but I love cappuccino and flavored creamers and, you know...all that "girly" stuff!!! I also like this one flavor that we have at work. It is white chocolate carmel cappuccino and I think it's great. Only burns my tongue EVERY. TIME. I. DRINK. IT!!!! Never fails! That stuff out of those machines is hot!

I have heard lots of good things about the Pumpkin Spice, something or other at Starbucks that I might try although I am not crazy about pumpkin. I did have a pumpkin cream cheese muffin at Starbucks the other day though and it was really good!! I am always up for trying new things!!!

Just a little bit of fluff to start your day!! =)

BIG Game Tomorrow!!!

GO HOGS! Pictures, Images and Photos

So, you already know that I LOVE COLLEGE FOOTBALL!! I LOVE the Razorbacks!!!! So...tomorrow...big game. I don't think we will ever win but I am hoping that we can hold our own. That would make me happy! The deal is that NO ONE is supposed to beat the #1 team...that's why they are #1, right. Well, how awesome would it be if we could beat the #1 team??? Pretty. Stinkin. Awesome! SO....

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day Pictures, Images and Photos

October is a month for awareness. Most people know it as the month to remember breast cancer survivors which I feel is EXTREMELY important. But it is also domestic violence awareness month (I will recognize this later on this month) which I have been personally affected by and it is also National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. October 15th is the day specifically set aside to remember....

Today is a day to remember. God's perfect creation. Babies. Babies that, for whatever reason, were not meant to live on the earth for a long time. It's sad. It's unpleasant. It's devastating. It's hard to understand. It's real. Very real.

I have so many....TOO many friends that have lost babies and as I have posted on here BREAKS MY HEART!!!! I can't think about it for long because it seriously has a huge impact on me. I have a hard time. It is SO not all about me...I guess my point is that as hard as it is for me to think about the pain and make sense of it in my heart and mind, it must be so incredibly difficult for those that actually have endured it. God has not given me that grace and if He has granted that to you...bless you...I can't imagine.

For all of my sweet friends who have lost due to miscarriage...
Infant death...

I am so sorry.

Thoughtful Thursday

"God calls us to obedience to the 'what' not the 'how.' We are not responsible for how this 'thing' plays out!

God appoints or allows circumstances (often crises) in our lives to redirect our paths. This is referred to as the concept of The Reversal of Destiny. The Bible is FULL OF THEM!!!

Let us live a life that says "THAT HAS TO BE A GOD THING!"

God can take my mourning and grieving and turn it into dancing!!

**This all came from this morning's Bible study. Have I told you how much I love this study???!! It is amazing. AMAZING!! I am learning WAY more about myself than I ever thought possible. We all have a story to tell and if we think about it, there probably is a "Reversal of Destiny" present somewhere in our story that makes our story worth telling.

God give me the strength, wisdom, and grace to tell my story...when the time is right!

"For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." 2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV

Party Like It's 1999!!!

I cannot believe it has been 10 years since I have graduated from high school!! I know some of you that are reading this are saying, "Just wait till it's 20, 30, etc..." I am/was feeling old...still am but I have never been happier in my entire life so I guess I am liking "old." =)

We made a quick trip to Hope High School in Hope, Arkansas this weekend for my 10 year high school reunion! I think I have posted previously regarding this reunion and how, as senior class co-president, it was mine and my friend Christy's responsibility to organize the reunions. When I was a senior that sounded so cool to me....after doing it, it sounds so NOT cool to me!! =) Seriously, it was one of the most stressful, time-consuming, and difficult things that I have ever done! But, let me say...IT WAS WORTH IT!!! We had a blast!! There weren't many there (there was LOTS of drama leading up to it that I would rather not discuss) but those that came I believe had a great time. All in all, I don't think that we were out a ton of money personally even though we paid more than everyone else, I can guarantee's over and while I am glad about that, it still was a lot of fun!

If you are on the fence about whether to go to your reunion or not...DO IT!!! I personally think you will regret it if you don't and I think a lot of people were surprised that they had a good time.

I will leave you with some pictures....

Table decorations

Christy and Me....I battled with those bra straps ALL NIGHT!!! SO annoying those nursing bras are!

Some old buddies...Collin, Jason, me and Jacob

Some of the girls from back in the day...Christy, Me, Dana, Bree, Korie and Sarah

The whole gang!

On the way home!

I ♥ These Things!!!!

We all have things we love at certain times in our lives. What are mine right now?

Well, of course....

(Yes, I know these are not new....I ashamedly have not taken any pictures of my girls recently)

And I also love this guy....

(Couldn't find any pictures of him by himself...I guess I should say that I love me too, but I was meaning to just say I ♥ HIM!!!)

I have tons of other family and friends that I love as well, but one other thing I want to mention right now is....this....I LOVE LOVE LOVE this....

This has been THE BEST Bible study I have ever done!! I have done several of Beth Moore's studies but this one has been my favorite!! This past week was hard...very hard for me. I have realized a lot of things about myself...hard things that I need to work on and address...strongholds and weaknesses. It's a good thing but working through shortcomings within yourself is not pretty sometimes. This study is great and if you haven't done it, I encourage you to find a group that you trust and do this will change your life!!!!

Battle at Bedtime!

So we have had this ongoing battle with Rachel concerning sleep! I fear that she is phasing out a nap and I am not okay with that!!! She has always been a great sleeper (both of my kids are, PRAISE THE LORD)!! She has not been sleeping at all at "school" and when she comes home she doesn't want to nap either and usually it is so late that I have to decide whether or not it makes sense because then the result is that she will sleep until 5:30 and then want to stay up late....what to do???

The jury is still out....

Well, the weekend, as always, went by super fast. I didn't take any pictures of my kids. This next week will be busy getting ready for my reunion. It is almost here and I can't wait for it to be over!

I am hating the Cowboys right about now! They sucked today....Tony Romo sucked today...something that happens way too often for me! STUPID STUPID STUPID! I can't say "sucked" and "stupid" in my house so I have to use such "profanities" on my blog! =)

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PIGGGG!!!!!!!! AHHH!!! I am so excited that we smoked A&M so bad! I LOVE IT!!!

Show Us Your Life - Baby Gear

Today on Kelly's blog she is featuring "must haves" and "could do withouts" as far as baby gear/stuff is concerned!! I am SOOO glad she is doing this for those that are expecting or hope to have a baby someday because it would have been really helpful for me when I was first having babies. Things do change and there are so many things that they have now that they didn't have when I had my first....but, I hope to offer some helpful suggestions. As Kelly posted on her site, what works for us, may not necessarily work for you because babies are different but here are some suggestions!

Against so many people's advice, we bought the Graco Snug Ride infant car seat with travel system (stroller included). It was the Laura Ashley design one....deep purples and grays (we thought it might work with a boy too but I am not sure now....anyway...WE LOVE(D) IT!!! We bought it when I was pregnant with Rachel and used it with her and now we are using it with Lauren. I was told that it is too big and bulky and I would never use the stroller....those people could not have been more wrong!!

We registered for mostly neutral stuff because, like a lot of parents, we plan to use the things again for other children that might not be the same gender. My brother in law got us the swing on our registry which was the Fisher Price Aquarium swing. I have to tell you that both of my children loved this swing. What I loved about it was that it swings two different directions. You can do it cradle-style or traditional style. My kids loved the lights and the fish that went around and around above their heads and the music wasn't too annoying! =) Now that it has been 3 years since we have gotten that swing, there are so many out there that I LOVE and would probably buy instead. Our swing will likely not last another has issues!! =) ALSO, just a warning...IT TAKES SO MUCH BATTERY POWER!!!!! I really wish it had the ability to plug in....this is Rachel in the swing....

Again, I was almost talked out of this. I know so many people that say a changing table is just another piece of furniture that they didn't have room for and felt that they could change diapers anywhere. Well, we bought our furniture from my cousin and she had an armoire, a crib (that converts all the way to a full size bed), and a changing table. Our changing table has three good-sized drawers underneath and a little cabinet-type thing with a door. It has been so much more than a changing table for us!! We put her there to put her clothes on her, to suction her nose, to give her medicine, to play with her, after her bath, really has been, what I feel, a necessary item in our house! This was actually a picture before we ever had a baby, so it looks different now! =)

We got this as a shower gift from the hostesses when I was pregnant with Rachel. It is a Graco one...not sure she theme name but it isn't available anymore, anyway. It is green. With my first, I would say, it was necessary. With my second, I would still probably say it was necessary but she HATED it. The purpose for purchasing this piece of baby equipment was to have the girls sleep in our room because we didn't get a bassinet. Rachel did great. We kept her in the pack n play in our room until she was almost 3 months old and we moved her to her bed. We took this on trips and she slept just fine. Lauren...not so much!!! SHE WOULD NOT SLEEP IN THIS!!!! I had to move her to her bed before she was 2 months old because she did not like it. It is actually still in our room and I put her in it occasionally but she was not a fan. When we go on vacation in a few months, she will have to sleep in one again...oh boy....I am just praying she likes it better now that she is older! I will use it, however, for a playpen when she becomes mobile...I did that with Rachel too and she didn't like it because she was confined! Mean Mommy!!
Here is Rachel can kinda see the pattern of the pack n play...

Again, every baby is different....Lauren HAD TO BE SWADDLED and Rachel hated it! I actually didn't think I would ever get Lauren away from being swaddled...she wanted to be swaddled until she was probably 4 1/2 months old!!! When I was pregnant with Rachel, Brice found this website for the Miracle Blanket. Well, it seemed like a great thing...I ordered two of them and then she didn't want to be swaddled! I tried them again with Lauren but I received one of the Kiddopotamus Swaddlers as a gift and liked them a lot!!! That's what we used for Lauren and worked like a charm!

Both of my girls loved the bouncy seat. We had the Fisher Price Aquarium themed one for the bouncer too. They loved the water, fish and sounds it made....would just stare at it for a long time! It was also good to take them outside. Lauren has just grown out of it...she is sitting up and it is recommended that you not have them in it after they can sit up. Lauren in the bouncy seat....

I included both the Exersaucer and the Play Gym in this section. One reason is because I am getting lazy on this post and because I think they are both equally as important....We like our Exersaucer just fine. It is a Baby Einstein one that has tons of things to look at and do. Neither one of my kids just love(d) it though. They both would play for awhile but not any longer than about 15 minutes or so. The play gym, and what I am referring to are those mats with the toys dangling above their heads, my kids LOVED!!! We have a Baby Einstein one and when I was pregnant with Lauren, we got a pink and purple one as a gift (that we are letting a friend borrow). Lauren still likes the Baby Einstein one but she is rolling all over the place. I put both of my girls under this thing from about the first week of birth. It helps with focus and attention. They loved it and so do I! Here is Rachel looking at the play gym
This is a newer version of the one we have but it is VERY similar....
Rachel in the Exersaucer Again, a newer version of the Exersaucer we have

Boppy Pillow
A MUST if you are going to nurse but it isn't just good for nursing! It is good to lay the babies on, it is good to hold them up if they aren't quite sitting up yet. They are just great great great inventions!! I still use the Boppy pillow when nursing and feel lost without it!!!!

This may sound stupid and crazy to a lot of mothers but it gave me SUCH peace of mind!! After I put my girls in their crib, I used this monitor. It detects movement, which includes breathing. If the baby stops breathing for more than 20 seconds, an alarm will go off. You can turn it off if you just want to use the monitor feature without the sensor but I will tell you, I slept better at night knowing that this was in place. If it is bogus and doesn't work, don't tell me because it helped me!! =)

Inchbug bottle/sippy cup labels. I used these for Rachel's bottles and still use them for her sippy cups. They are AWESOME and I buy lots of them for gifts!!!

Trumpette Socks....I LOVE these socks. They are cute, you don't have to put shoes on your baby and THEY STAY ON THEIR LITTLE FEET!!

Triple Paste Diaper Cream....ABSOLUTELY. HANDS DOWN. THE. BEST!!!! I had a terrible time with diaper rash with Rachel. She was on antibiotics so much that she was CONSTANTLY getting a diaper rash...and she has VERY sensitive skin. I tried them all! I tried everything. This stuff is very expensive but it works.

Medela Breast Pump. I love mine! It is considered the best. I think I agree! I consider this a must have if you are nursing and plan on pumping at all....I pump EVERYDAY!!! It's expensive but well worth the cost of all that formula! =) (Side note...I have a lot of products that I consider a must if you are going to breast if you want to know....)

Girls....I could go on and on and on.....I think I will stop here....I know there are more things that I love but I have to get some work done around the house....

Here are some things that i either didn't have, did have and didn't care for, or didn't have an opinion about them either way....

It's big. It's HUGE, actually. It barely fits in my trunk of my car. Rachel loves it. It works for what I need. I think I would buy it again but I really haven't used it as much as I probably I am undecided on this one.

My husband loves these. I don't. My kids are big and heavy and these hurt my back! We will use one when we go to Disney World soon.

I didn't nurse Rachel hardly at all so I used bottles with her from the beginning. We used the Playtex drop-ins and loved them. With Lauren, she only gets a bottle when I am at work or occasionally when I want to use the milk in my freezer before it goes bad. We use the Avent Tempo (drop-ins) and the regular Avent bottles. I like them just as well. I am not a big "you must use this bottle" advocate. I have several friends that love Dr. Brown's....

I don't buy them because the pediatrician says not to. That's it. I have no opinion on the subject.

We have a Britax Marathon. We love it! Is it the best? Is it worth the extra money? Not sure! I have never used one of the other ones to compare. I can just tell you that we like ours. I just bought a new Graco Nautilus for Lauren. It can't be used backwards so it will have to go to Rachel....I think it will be a nice car seat as well.

HOOTER HIDER Nursing Cover
Bought on...never use it! I usually just go to the car or the nursing room at the mall...whatever. I have used it once and Lauren hated it! I may use it on the airplane on our upcoming trip. I hope to use it's cute and seems like a great invention....

I think it is a complete waste of money. I think that it is silly. That's my opinion....

Seriously???? I have some friends that have them because someone bought them as a gift. Again...seriously????

So...there you have it! The "Baby List" according to Rikki! I know, it's long and seriously, I may come back here and edit this post as I think of things. But this is all I can do for the moment. I have kids to play with, dishes to wash, and shows to watch!! =) If you have any questions about any of this, please let me know!!!

Have a great weekend! GO HOGS!!!!
