Reason to Rejoice

It is time for me to play Christmas catch-up. We have been out of town and I have been busy with the kiddos. This year has been so much fun and I will try to tell you all about it without making this post too terribly long. CHRISTMAS EVE! We had a white Christmas Eve and it stayed for Christmas morning. To my knowledge (or recollection, anyway) this was my first white Christmas. I think it's crazy that I live in Texas and we have had more snow this year than Arkansas has! Here is our house on Christmas Eve right before we left to go to my aunt's to celebrate. We normally spend Christmas Eve at my Granny's but this was our first Christmas without her. It was very different and I had a hard time processing how different it would be. It made me very sad. First things, first.... Meet....Little Miss Muffet I think this is adorable. Lauren is going to be a spider...her outfit is too cute as well! More pictures after Halloween. Lauren is 6 months old! Happy 1/2 birthday my baby girl!! We don't go to the doctor until the 21st for Lauren's 6 month checkup. I am going to guess that she weighs right at 20 lbs and is 28 inches long. We will see how close I get! She had a rough day. She screamed for most of the day. I think her tummy hurt. Not sure what I ate to make it hurt...maybe the pizza I had Thursday night. I don't really even like pizza so I won't have a hard time avoiding it in the future. So...I decided that for Lauren's 6 month professional pictures that I would schedule it on a day when everyone could go and we could get some family pictures. We have not all had our picture taken together since I was in the hospital the day Lauren was born...I wasn't looking the greatest, ha! I am sure that when we...

What a crazy week we have had!! It started with us finding out that we are having another baby girl (see previous post). Then, I worked Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday I started having some heart "weirdness" where my heart would skip a beat and then beat really fast. It wasn't really severe on Wednesday so I went to sleep in hopes that it would just go away the next morning. When I woke up Thursday morning it was worse so I decided to call the doctor. I went to work anyway and got an EKG done which was slightly abnormal. I had an appointment at the doctor at 1:15. She said that she thinks I am anemic and put me on a prescription iron pill. She also told me to increase my fluid intake. I started taking the iron pills on Thursday evening and had the heart issues up until yesterday morning. I haven't had any more "spells" since yesterday morning. I guess the iron pills are working. I am VERY thankful..it was odd and now I can concentrate on other...

I haven't been posting much because there's just not too much to post about. I had a doctor's appointment today. It was super quick. The heartbeat was 160. Rachel had to go with me because my babysitter fell through. She was an angel the entire time...I was really surprised. She liked hearing the heartbeat although she didn't know what it was....we told her and she said, "Baby heart." So cute! I got stuck again for the quad screen tests. We didn't do this with Rachel but decided to go ahead and do it for this one. Again, she said no news is good news. All seems to be well. I feel the baby move all of the time now which is neat...my absolute favorite part of pregnancy.

So, I haven't blogged much about this pregnancy. I am 11 weeks today!!! YIPPEE!!! All is going well. I have had a little morning sickness...nothing major. I have definitely been more nauseated with this little one than I was with Rachel. HOWEVER, it has not kept me from eating! =) Suddenly being off my diet when I found out I was pregnant was like a celebration but I probably won't be celebrating when I go to the doctor next! With Rachel I craved fruity things...especially chewy candy like Starburst. So far with this one I have just wanted cold things. Not necessarily ice cream but really cold things. Mainly, I just like to eat! Like I posted previously, we had our first doctor's appointment on August 18th and it was good. Since I work at the ER, I get to see the baby a little more than your average person. A friend of mine and I like to sneak a peek occasionally with the machine in the ER. With us? WORK....a WHOLE LOTTA WORK!!! I am at work now about to get the day started. Not much new to report.....just dealing with a toddler....a very needy, cranky toddler. She has a sinus infection and is on Augmentin again. Maybe the antibiotics will cure the temper tantrums too...ya think?! I am ready for August to be over...oh, wait...August hasn't started yet, has it? After August I will not be working as much. I just find it difficult to keep up with everything. I am hitting the jewelry business hard and heavy next month - doing 10 shows in the month! I have to slow down working 3 and 4 days a week or I will crash and burn. We have several activities going on soon...birthday parties, anniversary getaway, more work, jewelry parties.......the list goes on! It will make the time go by faster....before I know it, my child is going to be grown.....maybe that's the cure for temper tantrums. Yesterday Rachel went to daycare because I had to work.
