Reason to Rejoice

I guess the phrase "change is the only thing that stays the same" rings true....once again. It was announced this morning that the preschool/children's minister will no longer be in that position effective July 27th. I am terribly sad. Cynthia is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!! She is completely selfless, a true servant of God, and assertive and challenging all at the same time. She has taught me so much as a lady, a leader, and a mom. She was there at the hospital after I had Rachel (as she normally is when someone at the church gives birth) and she did not even know us very well. She didn't even get to see her but she stayed and visited with me....something I will always remember. Something that I thought about this morning.....it truly is a act of obedience.....Cynthia announced that she has been struggling for awhile about what God would have her do. She told us that she feels called at this time in her life to be at home with her teenage son and her husband. Sh

I am a jewelry lady!!!! I am now a Premier Jewelry Consultant! I have my own jeweler number and everything. Now, I just have to get my FRIENDS and FAMILY to have parties for me so that I can first pay off what it cost to start and then hopefully start making profit!!! YAY!!! I am very excited and a little apprehensive at the same time. I mean, I love Premier Designs. I actually have hosted several shows in the past and have won a lot of free jewelry but I can recognize the fact that everyone does not love Premier or jewelry at all. I don't want to make people feel uncomfortable or be that pushy sales person because that gets on my nerves. I just want people to have fun and hopefully make a little money and wear pretty jewelry in the process. With that said.....PLEASE HAVE A SHOW FOR ME!!!! Seriously, let me know if you want to.

Nope, still no new pictures! Sorry gang. My camera still sits in the same spot it has been for about a week. Maybe I will get it out today. I did get the video camera out the other night and finally got Rachel counting from 1-10! And, she also sang Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star for me. So cute! Well, I did clean out my jewelry box and put all of my jewelry in it's place. I had to polish a lot of it because the silver had tarnished. I really should be better on my jewelry. My wedding set is really dirty right now too but I don't have platinum cleaner....may have to invest in some. So, I spoke to the lady about selling jewelry. There are expenses involved but the perks sound fabulous...isn't that what they always want you to think when they are giving a sales pitch. Brice and I have done some research and I really feel like this is a good opportunity. If nothing else, I can earn back the expenses that it takes to get into it and have a bunch of jewelry. What a fun day! I love Saturdays. I get to watch completely senseless TV (namely Lifetime), play with my munchkin all day and sit around and talk about everything and nothing with my husband! AND....I GET NAPS! So, that's why it is 1:04 in the morning and I am still awake. We took a 3 1/2 hour nap today! ALL 3 OF US! It was fabulous! I had a VBS meeting this morning at church so I had to get up and get ready for that. I came home and ate lunch, then we napped. I should have worked out, but....I DIDN'T! I did not do my 3 days this week....so shoot me! After nap, Rachel and I went shopping for ribbon! I think I have every shade of every color and every print of ribbon you can think of! I have discovered how to make bows and I am so stinkin excited about it!!!! Okay, so maybe my disappointment and frustration is gone.....about that....for now.... So, I had yesterday and today off. Yesterday I played with Rachel and washed clothes and cleaned the house. Today.....played with Rachel and made hairbows. I FINALLY FIGURED OUT HOW TO MAKE HAIRBOWS!!!! I have had all of the stuff for awhile but just now felt like I could sit down and do it while Rachel was taking a nap. I made several and hope to make more once I get some more supplies. Rachel already has a ton of them...I don't know why I feel the need to make more....BUT....I DO! I am wanting to do something special for our anniversary in August. It isn't any big special anniversary - our 4th. Any suggestions? The in-laws are going to come and watch Rachel while we do something special. I am thinking a nice hotel, dinner (told my nurse friend, Mike, that we would try Houston's - he swears by it), maybe some kind of recreation....movie, miniature golf, bowling....something. W

I just don't understand some people.....maybe never will. Most of you that know me well know that I am a people pleaser. I do not like it when people are upset with me. Frankly, I do not like it when people don't like me and I always wonder what I could do differently to make them like me. Well, this results in very high anxiety and then I have a tendency to have a drop in self-esteem.....YES!!! It DOES bother me THAT BAD! It really stresses me out. I don't know why I care so much about others and what they think of me. One of my many flaws, I suppose.... Well, while we are at it....I have another flaw confession....I really really have a need to be appreciated. It bothers me when I go out of my way to please people and to do good for and to others and don't get recognition for it. Here are some pictures from this past weekend. I have been so busy this week with work. I am now remembering what it is like to work full time. I remember when I started my new job after grad school, it took me a good month to get used to the schedule. I am SO NOT A MORNING PERSON!!! I am one of those people that could work 10-6:30 and be happy!!! =) Adison had a great birthday party!! She loved the cake! This is the sweetest picture!! I am so glad that our girls love each other! We were WORN OUT!!! And I was a little sunburned! This was a swimming pool at my mom's house that she and her husband made. It was pretty cool. It was chlorinated and all! Rachel loved it because she could stand up in it. We had a good visit. I have another busy work week this next week... Happy Father's Day to all the Daddies!!!

Okay, so I am slow with the pictures....forgive me, I have worked everyday this week....I will try to post them tonight. ANOTHER REASON TO REJOICE!!!! Our friends and staff member (Steve) at our church have been in the process of adopting for about 4 or 5 months now. He and Merri have been going through an adoption agency and through a church in Irving to help with funding and yesterday they were matched with a birth mom!!! YAY!!! Their profile has been shown 2 or 3 times and this mom is going to deliver within 4 weeks.....and IT'S A GIRL!!! This family is so precious and Nathan is 5 and is so excited to be a big brother. I am so excited for this family but still praying that all goes well. I have seen first hand the devastation of failed adoptions through close friends and it is just horrible. God has a special plan for this family and I am so happy for them.

What a busy weekend we have had! Rachel and I went to Hope mainly for Adison's 1st birthday party but we were so glad to see some of my family. It just seems like it went by incredibly fast. Friday night Mommy left Rachel (only from like 5:30-10:30) with my mom and went to Christy's daddy's for some food! It was GREAT!!! Rachel only slept in the car for 45 minutes on the way to Arkansas so she was dog tired and Mom said she went down at 10 minutes after 8:00 and never cried. Saturday we hung out with Christy's family and swam in Christy's mom's pool and Rachel loved it!! She keeps saying, "Chuchel, fim." (translation: Rachel, swim...in case you didn't get the original version!! :) Sunday was Adi's party. Well, I had some deeply spiritual things that I wanted to blog about but I think I will save that for another blog. For now, I will just tell you what we did over the weekend! It was tons of fun! We flew to Little Rock on Friday to go to Brice's parent's house. Rachel was great at the airport and on the airplane. I bought a new contraption for Rachel's car seat so that we didn't have to carry her through the airport or take an extra stroller, etc. It is a set of wheels that attaches to the car seat. Sounds simple, huh? Well, it would have been if my husband had looked at the brand of car seat that we own and read the correct instructions...okay, I should give him a break...at least he did read the instructions, right?? Anywho....we got to their house and Rachel went to bed pretty soon after. She fell right to sleep but decided to wake up at 10 til 6:00 the next morning...IT'S SATURDAY!!!!
