Rachel's New Trick!

Image
Once again it is time for Rachel to do something that not everyone thinks is amazing but her Momma thinks it is!!! Rachel can roll over from her back to her belly and now that she has figured it out, she loves it! Anytime she is on her back over she goes. It is funny! She loves being on her belly! Today I went up to check on her because she was playing in her bed and when I went up to her room she was asleep on her belly. I guess it was okay because she was breathing but it kinda made me nervous. Anyway, she is changing to much...I feel like I say that everytime I post. Her friend Chelsea is walking some and she is doing a super job!!! Way to go Chelsea...only 8 months old! Starting to do the trick.... Here she goes!! Well, I am over, but a little stuck.... There we go!! Did you like my new trick???? Rachel Being a Silly Girl

Five months old!!!

Hello! So, it's been a long time since I have posted anything on here. A lot has happened since I posted last. We got to see some of my favorite people, we have been sick, and Rachel has done some incredible things!!! Rachel is now 5 months old!!! She turned 5 months old on the 14th while we were at Bob and Christy's house. We stayed with them for a few days and I had the best time. I miss Christy and all of the crazy fun that we have. I played Wii until my arms were sore (and still are). We got some pretty cute pictures of Rachel from the visit. I am going to post quite a few on here but you can look at more on dropshots. Christy looks cute as ever and I got to go to the doctor with her and hear little Adi's heartbeat. I am so proud for her and Bob and I can't wait to see them with their little girl. Bob was wonderful with Rachel and just looked completely comfortable with her. Rachel and I are both sick. I went to the doctor yesterday because I just have ...

More Firsts!!

Rachel doesn't seem to be allergic to anything. I just couldn't bring myself to give her peas for breakfast so we tried bananas. SHE LOVED THEM!!!! I gave her a little taste of peaches and of applesauce...she gagged on both of them. I am not sure if it is just the tartness of them, but she couldn't get enough bananas! So, she has tried peas, sweet potatoes, bananas, applesauce, and peaches. She's a pro...let's just pray that she doesn't break out in a rash! I think I am more excited about Rachel trying new foods than she is. :) I love watching Rachel day to day as she explores the world through her short, fat legs and chubby cheeks! She is growing so fast...I know I say that almost every post, but she is just changing so much. We have determined that she has her Daddy's nose and my mouth and although I hate to admit it, my big ole cheeks!!! She is just precious and I know I am biased, but she is a very good baby. God blessed us indeed! The past ...

That's My Girl!!

Well, I am just posting the proofs for Rachel's 3 month picture session. They turned out great! I love them! She has been extremely fussy today for some reason. I think that the sweet potatoes may be giving her a tummy ache. She has been having a lot of gas recently. She has also been wanting to eat a lot today. Help us if she is hitting another growth spurt....she is already big enough for her age!!!!

Good Check-up

We had our 4-month checkup today and everything is great! We actually went to the doctor yesterday too with fever and diarrhea. Rachel's little friend, Chelsea has been in the hospital since Sunday with Rotavirus so we just wanted to make sure that Rachel was in the clear. Yesterday they did a flu test and urinalysis to check for any infections. No flu and the urine cultures should be back tomorrow. She weighed 17 lbs 4 oz! She's my big girl! She was of the charts in her weight. She was in the 97th percentile for length - 25 1/2 inches long and 75th percentile for head circumference. She has a little head, I guess! Anyway, the doctor said that she is still very proportionate in her height and length and is meeting all of her developmental milestones on time and early. She gave us the "go ahead" for baby food!!! We started today with sweet potatoes and she seemed to like them. I also am trying out a new formula - Enfamil Gentlease. It has been recommended...

A Big Day!

Image
We had a big day today! We had a Sip-N-See baby shower for two girls that I work with that had their second babies (2 boys). It was Brice's birthday and St. Patrick's Day. Of course my diet was completely out the window today, but it is good to stray away every once in awhile. ;) We had 13 kids and 13 adults at the shower this morning and this place was a mad house!!! But, we did have a blast! Rachel posed for some pictures in her special 1st St. Patrick's Day outfit. She had to get a picture with Daddy on his birthday! We went out to eat for some Memphis style BBQ - Brice's favorite and then went to Kohl's and got Rachel some socks that actually fit and some outfits that were on sale...they were having a great sale!!! Gotta love that! We have a doctor's appointment next Tuesday so we will post how that goes and see how much "Fatty" weighs!!! I love my girl!

How time flies.....

When you're having fun!!!! We are having a blast! Rachel is yet another month old -4 months and it is so hard to believe that it has been that long. Seems like yesterday we found out we were pregnant when in fact it was almost exactly a year ago. God has chosen to bless our family in so many ways over this past year. I started my job at the hospital last March and have been there for a year and then at the end of March we found out that we were going to have a baby. I was blessed by finding the best doctor to assist me through my pregnancy and deliver Rachel. I didn't have any morning sickness besides an occasional tummy ache and up until the very end had a delightful pregnancy. The miracle of a baby in utero was a blessing in itself. I loved feeling Rachel move ALL OF THE TIME and although she hurt me constantly, I miss that feeling. Brice is enjoying his job and we were blessed by finding the church where God would have us worship. We have made some very good frie...
