Cowboys Stadium

Image
**I have been trying to do this post for two days but haven't had time.....** Up until last year, I had never been to a professional football game. I love football!! I actually like college better but I have always loved the Cowboys. I grew up in the Dallas area and then moved to Arkansas when I was 14 years old. I was trying to figure out what to call myself....a transplant, a re-plant...ha ha ha!! ANYWAY, we have some friends that we go to church with that have season tickets and so graciously allowed me to go last season on Thanksgiving. It was so much fun! We tailgated and all. BUT.... This is a new season and A NEW STADIUM!!! Can I just say AMAZING! It was great. I had the best time. Jim and Anita are AWESOME for letting me go again this year. I didn't think I would be able to see the new stadium (it's quite expensive) but I did and I am so glad. Here are a few pictures.... The screen....AWESOME!!! Two running backs - left Tashard Choice and right MY FAVO

There's a really long post that I posted a few minutes ago but this is an addition...this is my favorite picture (with a little editing) from Siah's birthday party.

Fall, Parties, and Football

Image
I love fall! Everything about it really but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the weather! I do not like the heat. I would prefer it to be cold over heat but I really love the "in between" of fall and spring. Here are some pictures of Lauren from the other day when it was about 65 degrees outside.... Saturday was an incredibly busy day for us! We had Josiah's 2nd birthday party at 10:00 and then were supposed to have Gage's that afternoon but we couldn't swing both of them because I had to work last night!!! It was a busy/steady night but I was able to leave a decent hour...around 1:00. I always have the hardest time winding down to go to sleep after I get home though. I didn't get to bed until around 2:30. Josiah's party was SO.MUCH.FUN!!! Rachel had a blast. I took a ton of pictures. Here are a few of my favorites...probably more than anyone cares to see.... MELODY!! Birthday Boy!! Now...let's talk football....WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING ON WITH THE RAZOR

Today's Funny

Image
Turning onto the little street in between Taco Cabana and Chick fil a...going to Chick Fil A for lunch... Rachel: (pointing to Taco Cabana) Is that Chick Fil A? Me: No, that's Taco Cabana. Rachel: That's silly! What's a Taco Banana? =)

Letter to Lauren

Image
**Yes, I changed the title of this post....when I realized that it is Wednesday not Thursday! =)** Dear Lauren Elizabeth, You are 6 months old now!! How is that even possible? It seems like yesterday I found out I was pregnant with you and couldn't wait to tell the world...and I did (against Daddy's wishes). I couldn't help it! I was so excited about another baby....about YOU!! You are my 2nd born. People say you don't take as many pictures of the 2nd as you do the first. I am not sure that is true for us, but if it is, please don't believe it is because I love you any less...I am just a little busier! =) I have kept to my picture taking tradition though and you have had professional pictures taken at 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months and I will continue....9 months, 1 year, etc....you change so much it is important to capture that. I love the moments that I have to spend only with you. I love rocking you (although you don't so much love it), I love kiss

Big Baby Girl!

It was shot day!! Lauren had her 6 month well baby checkup today...a little late since our pediatrician was on maternity leave. We are glad she is back!! We love our doctor! Here are Lauren's latest numbers: 19 lbs, 13 oz - 95th %tile 28 1/4 inches long - 100th %tile!!! 17 inch head - 75th %tile So, she is fat, super long and has a bigger than average but small in proportion to her body head!! I love her just the same!! =) ***I just went and looked and I was very close in my predictions on a post from last week...I said she would be 20 lbs and 28 inches!!*** The doctor said she looks great! She said that some breast fed babies are just big and some are tiny...well, let me tell ya...mine are not tiny by any stretch of the word!! =) I love my chubby babies!! She is doing everything she is supposed to. I made a deal with Lauren...I told her that if she was good while getting shots that Mommy would go get some too. So, I went to the hospital (after Hobby Lobby) and got my f

Parent's Night Out

Image
I had originally signed Rachel and Lauren both up for Parent's Night Out tonight. My aunt wanted Rachel to come to her house and Rachel loves going over there so I agreed that it was fine. So, I took Lauren to PNO at the same place that I take Rachel for PDO. I dropped her off around 10 til 7:00 and then they called me at about 9:15 and said that she had been "throwing up." Let me just say this...MY CHILDREN ARE SPITTERS!!! BIG TIME!!! Both of them. Rachel was bad and so is Lauren. The lady said, "Well, the girls that were working with her said that it was A LOT...more like throwing up." I explained, once again, that she spits up. She said that she took her temperature with the temporal artery thermometer and she has a fever....99.5. THAT IS NOT A FEVER!!!! Not anywhere will you find that reading to be a fever. I explained to her that we were already on our way to pick her up anyway. When I got there she was in someone's arms wrapped in a FLEEC

Emotions

Just not sure what exactly to blog. Not sure what to say. If you saw my last post, you know that Baby Rex went to be with Jesus this morning. My heart is aching. I hurt for Valerie and Chris. I CANNOT imagine what they are going through. I have posted before about babies dying and how I don't understand it and how it seems so prominent these days...not sure if it is just in my life or everyone feels that way. I just can't imagine. My friend, who is fearful of losing her own child(ren), has said to me many times: I just can't imagine losing my baby. I don't think I could do it. But she also says that God has not equipped her or prepared her to deal with it. She says that she cannot understand how parents do it because she hasn't had to. That makes so much sense to me. I say that I couldn't do it but the fact is, I could do it and if I had to, I would...but only ONLY by the grace of God. His grace is sufficient. That's how parents get through something like

This Little Man

UPDATE: Baby Rex is now with Jesus...as of 5:00 this morning. My heart is breaking. I am so sad. I held my baby last night and just cried thanking God for my blessing and halfway questioning why anyone has to lose theirs. This family has been through so much. Valerie and Chris got to hold Rex this morning. Please continue to pray for this family. ******************************************** This little one needs our prayers in a big way! Everyone that you know...please get them praying. This is Rex Christopher Sunberg. He was born on 9/9/09 at 26 weeks gestation weighing in at a whopping 1 lb!! His mom, Valerie, who I went to high school with developed HELLP syndrome and had to deliver immediately. HELLP syndrome is where you have high blood pressure, elevated liver enzymes, and your platelet count drops. This is an extremely serious condition and often deadly for baby and mommy. I had this after delivering Rachel and know first hand how scary it can be....but not nearly

First things, first.... Meet....Little Miss Muffet I think this is adorable. Lauren is going to be a spider...her outfit is too cute as well! More pictures after Halloween. Lauren is 6 months old! Happy 1/2 birthday my baby girl!! We don't go to the doctor until the 21st for Lauren's 6 month checkup. I am going to guess that she weighs right at 20 lbs and is 28 inches long. We will see how close I get! She had a rough day. She screamed for most of the day. I think her tummy hurt. Not sure what I ate to make it hurt...maybe the pizza I had Thursday night. I don't really even like pizza so I won't have a hard time avoiding it in the future. So...I decided that for Lauren's 6 month professional pictures that I would schedule it on a day when everyone could go and we could get some family pictures. We have not all had our picture taken together since I was in the hospital the day Lauren was born...I wasn't looking the greatest, ha! I am sure that when we
