What's been going on....

Okay, I KNOW...I am terrible at keeping up with this thing. When you have Dropshots and myspace and facebook and oh yeah, FAMILY it is kinda hard to keep up!

We have been doing very well but it does seem as though tragedy of all sorts has struck those closest to us. Brice's grandmother broke her arm and was out of commission living with Brice's mom for a couple of weeks. Good news is that she is on the mend and back to her apartment. Our neighbor across the street had a sudden brain aneurism and is in pretty bad shape. A family in our Sunday school class had a sudden death of a family member who was 25 years old. She had heart arythmia (not sure how that is spelled) and died suddenly. And one of my best friends, Krista's daughter, Chelsea had to be admitted to the hospital for a stomach virus and dehydration this past week. She is doing better and is getting back to her old self. It just seems like that old cliche' was brought to life - when it rains, it pours!

We are great! Rachel is growing so much. She is 8 1/2 months old and is so much fun. She is waving, clapping, doing the sign for more, scooting (her version of crawling), and sitting up from a lying down position very consistently. We had to lower her crib because I found her on her knees peering over the edge of the bed one day. She isn't pulling up nor does she show any interest in wanting to walk, but I seem to be thankful about that!!! :) She has two teeth and we are fighting hard to get two on top!! Her hair is getting longer and it looking more and more like her Daddy's tint...it is very light..almost a strawberry blonde. Her eyes still haven't changed fully...they are still a gray/hazel color and I suppose may change eventually. She is very pretty to me...of course but I think she is doll. She is looking more and more like her Daddy too! We go back to the doctor again on the 14th and are getting our 9 month pictures taken on the 13th. I just love her!

We are getting ready to go to Disney World at the end of August and we are so excited!!! This will be a test to see how Rachel does. We are taking a friend of mine from work because she has never been before and she is going to help us with Rachel. August is going to be a busy month for us, but I wouldn't want it any other way. I would like it if we could find more time to visit family and friends in Arkansas though! =( We miss them so much!!!

Until next time....
